A study comparing three instructional methods: traditional PowerPoint (PPT), PPT with voice-over (PPT+VOICE), and an artificial intelligence platform (edYOU). Students using PPT+VOICE and edYOU achieved higher quiz scores and answered a greater percentage of valid questions versus PPT, though not significantly. PPT+VOICE and edYOU students spent significantly less time in lectures than PPT. Item analysis determined question validity. While PPT+VOICE and edYOU were more effective than PPT in improving test performance and reducing lecture time, there were no significant differences between them. Overall, edYOU and voice-over enhanced PPT were more effective than PPT alone. The study provides evidence that supplementing lectures with technology like edYOU can improve learning and efficiency.
